The Trench

This is a lightweight wool trench I found with a fantastic collar.  I paired it with this black chiffon mini and some tan suede oxfords with burgundy socks.

Who Wore it Best?

I found this really great black velvet skirt the other day.  At first I was completely thrilled with it as a skirt, but then I thought, it would make an amazing cape.  It does pretty well as a cape without doing too much to it, but I would want to add some notions at the collar like some buttons.  I love it both ways, but now the question is, which way is better?

Bluesday

Cobalt Blue is such a great color.  This is a jacket that I have refashioned from an old 80's two piece suit.  It's paired with this white dress with a layered hem line.  I will let you in on a little tip.  This is a dress that I have actually turned inside out.  I turn a lot of my clothes inside out but only if I am lucky enough to find something, like this dress, where the inside seams are not evident of it being inside out.  I also decided to wear my vintage burnt orange boots, and then finally this necklace that I handmade.

Mini Mod

This is a little Mod inspired mini that I remade from a vintage piece.  The original was a very long, flapper-esque dress.  I took the top layer of it and made it into this mini dress.  It's going to be so great for the holidays.  I paired it with these red shoes to add a good color pop to all the neutrals and then added this handmade necklace.

Lazy Sunday

On this dreary fall Sunday morning, I was feeling the urge to play around with layering some of my favorite go-to comfort clothing, and give them a bit more life .  I love, love, love to layer.  This is a black leotard paired with my favorite high rise black denim and a big belt.  I layered my lace cape (used here as a scarf) with my brown woven scarf over it and then these "arm socks", and threw on my brown leather boots with some tall boot socks.

Everything is Anything

All my life I've seen things as though I am seeing them for the first time.  Once I get an idea in my head, its hard to look at something the same way ever again.  I saw this deer skull and I could not get the idea of a jewelry holder out of my head.  While some may think it's a bit grotesque or even morbid, I think its actually quite beautiful.

I am going to be mounting it on the wall, but I got too excited about the find that I had to put it out some way somehow.

Sweater Dressing

I threw this open knit oversized sweater over a nude chiffon dress.  I love how the ruffle detail from the dress shows at the bottom.  I layered my socks pairing a grey/blue knee high with a brown speckled sweater sock and adding these brown suede slouch boots for a bohemian touch.  It's very cozy and feminine at the same time.

Black Magic

This is an outfit consisting of two dresses.  The black overlay is a vintage find.  Its a velvet lace burnout button up dress.  Since it is sheer I decided to use it instead in this outfit as more of a long jacket over this crew neck cheetah print dress.  I belted the dress underneath and then threw the jacket over it and wore some tall camel color boots.  The necklace is one that I made recently using various reclaimed hardware.

Make it Work

Along with a passion for designing jewelry, I love to design clothes as well.  When I find myself in a creative rut, I like to pull out my sketch book and just start drawing.  It can be quite addictive.  I design and make things on my own, and also really enjoy remaking pieces.  These are just only a few of things that I have made.  The dress at the top is a dress I made, and then the two at the bottom are pieces that I made out of some old Pairs of leggings.  I am hoping once I get my work room set up, I will be making a lot more!

Statement Belt

This belt is a great vintage find, and also my new favorite statement belt.  It's an old holster belt that rests perfectly on the hip.  I think it's great to paired with something feminine like a long maxi and lace cardigan.  I added in the necklace I made as well to feature it at a longer length.

Heavy Metals

This is a necklace I made recently using lots of reclaimed hardware.  It's made of all different kinds of metals from various spare parts I've collected including pieces from old door knobs, old jewelry, and other spare kitchen parts.  I wanted it to be a bold statement necklace and wanted it to look very geometric. The chain on it can also be adjusted to various lengths so it can be worn short or long.

Be bold

Mixing prints is one of my favorite things to do.  I mixed a silky navy and creme striped top underneath this 90's black and creme floral printed dress, tall suede black boots with knee high socks, and a camel color medium size belt. Another warm weather dress that is now fall weather ready.
