Why Knot

Bad wardrobe day? Easy fix.  Knot some already existing pieces to make them more interesting.  My favorite is to knot long dresses and skirts to add a little bit of shape and edge.  Its great for the winter so you can show off patterned tights or tall socks.  In this picture I knotted a long a-line dress in the front and added this flattering blazer with some ankle boots and a stocking cap.

Jeweled

This is a necklace I made using two different vintage pieces.  It's secured together using a leather band to add a soft appeal to all the heavy metals. I absolutely love it!

Nostalgia

I stumbled upon this dress the other day as I was cleaning out some of my sewing supplies.  It's an old 80's vintage dress I decided to revamp.  I removed the bustier top from the dress and added some lace, and then I added in an apron style skirt with some pockets. Naturally the dress inspired some photography using some good old fashion natural lighting.

layering scarves

Scarves are great fall accessories.  I like to layer mine together using different colors and textures, like these two.  The crochet one adds a great cozy layer.  To make it look not too bulky, I belt it to give it some shape, and then add another scarf over it.  Layering is fun to play around with and gives an outfit a more bohemian appeal.  Very cozy for the fall weather!

Birds Eye View

I took these photos a couple of months ago in Texas.  I love this dress and my favorite part about it is the asymmetrical bottom and sheer overlay.  I thought this large window and its natural lighting were perfect to highlight these details.

Animal Instincts

So many great things in one garment; silk, cheetah print, versatility.  I love this blouse for adding print or pattern to outfits.  It goes great with this lace skirt, it gives the femininity an edgy appeal.  The teal vintage suede belt with the gold buckle gives it the perfect pop of color.  Add the gold choker, some booties with some socks, and of course red lipstick.
